Baby Genius!

Does this picture even need commentary? I thinnk not!
(Just as an FYI - this is not posed, he puts these on himself!)

Springtime in Texas!!

For all of you not in Texas right now - it's like in the high 80's in the late afternoon. So the kids have been doing slip-n-slides and running through sprinklers all week while the mom's sit in the shade eating ice and trying to stay cool!!
This is our buddy Brett from next door who we play with everyday! He's got lots of army/fighter/ninja toys. We're cool!!

No - I don't let them run around in their skivvies (well not outside at least)! But they were drying off their clothes after playing in the water. Please take note of Matthew's (he's the one on the back people) undies - are they on backwards? I don't even notice anymore - I'm so used to seeing half of his cute little bum-cheek hanging out!
Our new summer shoes came and we couldn't wait to put them on!
Mommy wears flippies, daddy wears flippies, Brett (from next door wears flippies), Auntie Maddie wears flippies........................so mommy bought us cool Airwalk Camo flippies!! That's right - we're cool!

Time for myself?! What's that?

So moms and dads rarely get any time for themselves, right? There's always laundry around the corner, weeds that are starting to take over your newly planted begonias, constantly hungry kiddos or, on that rare free Saturday, a ward Primary activity!!! (just teasing Lauree)

Last Friday, Troy took the "morning" off to go golfing with a couple buddies from work (sound familiar ladies?) Keeping all things equal (which they always are in marriage, right?!) - it's now MY TURN for a little break. Fantastic!! Woohoo!! About time!!! So what's the problem?!

I have NO idea what I like to do anymore!!!

Pre-MJZ, I had all kinds of time to myself and I always knew just what I wanted to do.............GO SHOPPING of course. It never got old - I couldn't get enough of it. I didn't even have to buy anything (though I often did), just walking into Anthropologie or Nordstrom or Macy's gave me a rush! I LOVED IT!!!

Don't get me wrong - I still LOVE shopping - but trying on clothes as a 25 year old single girl who works out everyday to keep her body "tight" and has only herself to spend her hard earned money on is a little different than trying clothes on the "looser" body of a 31 year old mother of 3 (2 of those twins) and spending money that could always be spent on some household project or diapers/Pull-ups/wipes/fruit snacks...............you know where I'm going with this!

Here's my question to all of you mom's out there...............when your husbands spend that "morning" golfing and turn to you and say, now you go take a break.............WHAT DO YOU DO?!

Take me out to the ball game!

What a great night!! Saturday, we took the boys to their first professional (minor league) baseball game at Dell Stadium (about 5 minutes from our house)! Now, I can't say that they actually watched more than 15 minutes of the game, but they loved every minute of being there - especially the $9 sodas, funnel cake (Troy's nostalgia kicked in) and cotton candy!
It's such a family-friendly stadium. Past the outfield, they have rock climbing, a basketball court, moonwalks and a huge play structure for the little kids where we spent most of our time. There were so many kids that Zachy was a little overwhelmed and stayed close to mom and dad. But Jake and Matt kept up with the big kids - sometimes even pushing past them to get down the slides. Crazy kids!!
And of course, what did they want to do Sunday afternoon? Play baseball of course - so we pulled out their t-ball set and hit balls all afternoon! I love having boys!

PINK CARPET!!

You know it just might not be the best of days when the first thing you hear at 6:45 in the morning is "uh oh.....it spilled!" from your twin 3 year olds. Matthew and Jacob - WHAT SPILLED?!! So I jolt out of bed and run into the family room to see PINK pepto bismol all over my carpet!! The entire bottle on my almost white carpets!! I had been so tired the night before - I forgot it was there and left it out - so I could only be mad at myself!! And thank goodness it was on the floor and not in tummys!

I take a lot of pride in keeping my carpet clean!! Up until this point - I thought I could get ANYTHING out of carpet. I mean, in just the last week, I'd had a run in with toothpaste, Desitin and other unmentionables that come with potty-training boys. You name it and I've gotten it out of my carpet.....thanks to Folex and my trusty wet/dry vac!!

So there we were - me against PINK pepto bismol (which by the way contains 2 different red dyes!) We tried EVERYTHING - Folex.........didn't work. Our carpet cleaning solution for our Kirby.........um, no. Club soda............not a chance. Hydrogen peroxide...........nope! I was crushed!! Seriously - ask Troy - I was in a serious funk!

By the end of the day, the pink had faded a bit and we found plenty of carpet in the attic to just replace it with if the red dye remover I ordered on the internet doesn't work. (Let's be honest - we're replacing the carpet!)

So.........I have pink carpet for awhile! But really - isn't that the life when you have 3 little boys? Onto the next adventure!

They're cleaning up.................

.......so I have 3 seconds for my first official post. It's going to be a short one - but at least I'm blogging - right mom?!

How do you get a couple 3 year olds and a 21 month old to clean up their mess when all they want to do is watch "Scooby Dooey Where Are You?" GENIUS - if I do say so my self - why don't you give them each a pair of tweezers?! Fun for them, improves their motor skills (using tweezers is tough for little guys) and best of all ........... it takes more time to clean up so mom gets a few more moments to clean up, check e-mail, shower............options are endless!

I hear some commotion - I think my time is up!
