Most of you would probably look at me as being a pretty strong, independent person, right?! And most of the time - I feel like that. I can venture into unknown territory, with 3 really little kids, all by myself and I'm usually pretty successful (though people watching might not think so.....they just don't know what my view of "successful" is). I have traveled by myself. I've even lived by myself (well with roommates who were never home).
So why is it on nights when my husband doesn't come home - I get FREAKED OUT?! Seriously - I know it's ridiculous. I live in one of the safest cities in the nation. I have a house with a great security system. Really, a burglar wouldn't have a chance!
But as soon as the sun goes down...................anybody else out there feel the same? Maybe we could have a support group ; )

I'd like to be part of that group. When B's gone I stay up intil at least 1:00am because I can't stand going to bed alone. Not until I'm a zombie and fall asleep as soon as the head hits the pillow.
You should invest in a pair of ferocious attack digs, or you can rent mine. Heck, you can have mine. There is a certain peace of mind that comes with knowing that if anyone ever comes in our door there will be two pairs of snapping teeth and growling to welcome them (so what if my dogs only weigh like three pounds each, they sure sound mean!). I can relate though. Call me, I love a good sleepover and I can bring my mace, steak knife and attack dogs :)
Uh, digs, I meant dogs.
I'm lucky Aaron doesn't travel much without us. I once had to stay a week at my in laws 100 year old house alone with Claire. That was rough week - there was a Thunderstorm almost every night too. It's funny how getting used to having a bed partner makes us soft.
This is your 3rd post in a row WITHOUT any pictures....
THAT WILL NOT DO!!!!!
You don't want to be alone? You know where you can go.....
Me, me! I want to join! :) We don't have a great security system (or any, for that matter! LOL!), but I do have a mag-light! ;) I just always have all the downstairs lights on, the tv on (regardless of whether I'm watching!), and then I get on the phone. :)
How did the hernia surgery go?!?!
I think I could be president! When Ken is gone I make him listen to me brush my teeth, take my contacts out, put lotion on, and then talk me to sleep. It's at least an hour and a half process. Oh, and did I mention I make him listen to me pant up and down the stairs as I look in every closet/room/or corner. Because I'm scared now that it is dark because I never lock up the house. You would think
I would when he is gone, but that would require me to actually keep a housekey with my car keys. Dumb I know!
