Ok - that title could mean anything, really right?! But specifically - I'm referring to today's latest controversial headline!!
DAVID COOK WINS AMERICAN IDOL
Now I haven't been watching the entire season - but I did watch the last couple of weeks and the finale on Tuesday!! And seriously people!!
A 25 year-old guy with a guitar and a decent raspy voice (BORING! pretty much the same as every lead vocalist out there) not to mention some serious eye make-up
VS
A cute, humble 16 year old kid with a voice and talent that most seasoned performers would pay millions for!! (I was blown away by his performances in the finale and I'm not easily impressed!)
Was it even a choice? Well, apparently - because America chose WRONG!!! I was SHOCKED and APPAULED!
Thoughts? And don't give me the "Archuletta is young and will have lots of opportunities" because that is simply agism!!

People can "spin" it any way they want to but THIS is what happened....
Simon called it Wed. night - David A. had out sung David C.!! He had the better voice, he gave the better performance hands down....
then Simon found out who won before the show....to save face (because he HAD called it) he gave his little speech (blah, blah, blah)and said he didn't care who won!
And that's the end of the story.....

I was suppose to say "And that's the REST of the story...." you know, like Paul Harvey does!!!
David Archuletta is too good a guy to be catapulted into stardom at his age (though I'm pretty sure he can have stardom if he wants it at this point). Maybe someone's just looking out for him from above?

*Better voice
*Better personality
*Is the kind of performer we'd expect Disney to want to capitalize on - (i.e. High School Musical) (teeny-boppers and tweens)
*Hands down best performances on the final night.
*We'd buy his itunes for easy listening and Sunday music
*Compare his 'soft' style to Josh Groban
*CANNOT and SHOULD NEVER sing hip-hop again!!! LOL!! That was terrible!
Cook:
*Great voice
*Arrogant
*More 'star' quality
*Rocked on songs he changed up during Beatles week and on Billy Jean
*We'd totally buy his itunes - especially if he covers more songs like he has!
Overall we loved both of them.
Admittedly I was happy Archie didn't win because I think he needs to go on a mission. :) (If he won Justin brought up the good point that they might not let him go for his own safety. Plus he'd have a contract with AI and who knows for how long? Something that still might be the case, but that's my reasoning!:)
Living in Murray, Utah, needless to say, who I was pulling for. It was wild to see little kids voting for hours. Parents with cars painted like soccer finals, BUT...I agree with Jessica (and I do not have a trained ear like Jessica's) that David A. rocked the finals. 10 million more votes??? I think they need to limit the number of votes from a phone, and have the judges votes count for some of it. I'm sure that Simon wants to hear my opinion! Sorry about the boys and their illnesses!
Archuletta had my vote for sure! Can't explain it either. Cook was good, but a bit much on the humble side for my liking!

Not to go against the whole everyone here - but I'm actually glad that Cook won. He was my early favorite (despite the hair) and remained so. I thought he was more talented, more refined and just more ready.
I'm with Lisa, or actually I am with Simon. I thought they were both amazing, but I would be more likely to listen to music that David Cook sings as opposed to the kind of music Archie would sing. Plus David Cook did some awesome arranging of his songs. I don't know, I feel like he was the true American Idol, however, there's no denying that Archuletta has got some serious skill :)
